The X-Men Trilogy [Movies]Ok, So I stayed up late and watched all three:P I hadn't seen them in a while, and I noticed some stuff this time around that had me laughing, and grimacing....
X-Men fans don't kill me! I loved the comics:)
1st one
I thought that while the effects were amazing! There were some, well, annoyances with the characters. For starters, Scot was pretty usless, everytime you turned around someone was taking his glasses and rendering him helpless. Logan's attachment to Jean was really sudden (and I'll admit I am biased, I never liked her character) or was that just me? Also, this crack team of superhero's, got there butts handed to them by a Frog! I love this movie based on Wolverine (who I thought Hugh Jackman played pretty darn well) He seemed to have the only sense of humor, (loved the metal detector bit, and middle claw bit) And he was pretty much, the only one kicking any butt. Rogue seemed very willing to believe 'some boy' she just met, but in all, I loved her character more then the others (Logan's excluded)
2nd One
Ok, Jean got a better haircut, and better clothes, and the characters seemed like more thought had gone into them. Stryker was a MUCH better/scarier bad guy, and again, the effects were through the roof. But, forstarters, the x-men jet, which supposedly, no one was able to catch, track, or hurt, was taken down by a couple of regular jet pilots? I liked that Mystique got some more screen time, she was pretty cool... and a little creepy. By far my favorite becasue of the first few minutes of the movie, Nightcrawlers Introduction, it was amazing, and very well done.
3rd
Sadly, NightCrawler isn't seen again, what happened there? And why is it that children with great power usually have no hair? Jean is subtly creepy and evil again, and there are some unexpected exits. Storm is much more developed, and gets more lines, and more screen time. The massive fight at the end is just so cool, and lets give it up for Bobby, who matured nicely, and for Rogue, who is still one of my favorites. Many new characters were shown, and that was nice, but the actress playing Kitty has been changed 3 times, a different one in each movie! This one was so packed full of effects, and I liked it based on the effects, it was short on humor, and a little dramatic at times, but ohwell. The end left you with possibilities, but I am not sure they are going to continue the franchise, if they do, they'd better get all the characters back, I would hate to see replacements....
I will love the movies, since I love the X-Men, but the comics, are pretty good too:) In conclusion, I think that they cast the parts very well, that their effects team should be held in awe, and that their writers should maybe take a few more classes.... These are great movies to watch if you want that feeling of, DUDE I can be a superhero!
Depending on how many people want to kill me after this, I may or may not do the Spidermans ....
(and yes I was going to do a more in depth on each of the chars and on the story, but I didn't want to spoil it too bad for someone who's not seen them yet)

NightCrawler is my favorite X-Men. I missed him in the third one!
My favorite is probably the second one. It could have used more NightCrawler though. He's just too cool. The story kept me worried and quessing and stuff. It went into depth into pasts of the characters and such, and I always enjoy character development.
Yup.

What I hated was that they didn't really write him out, he just Poof! vanished! I liked where they were going with him and Storm too, (pouts) can't believe they didn't at least mention him in the 3rd. 2nds Probably my favorite too! the char development was much better then in the third, which focused mostly on Jean.
on another note, when you watch them back to back, it always amazes me how different the character's look, Wolverine looked way different in the 2nd then he did in the 1st. So did Rogue and Storm, and Jean changes drastically from the 1st to the 3rd. I think only the Professor and Magnito stayed the same

Two Ams is double the confusion XD
I love X-men, but I don't really remember the movies. I have most of the comics though. I think we have a VHS of X-men III so maybe I'll watch that this weekend. Nightcrawler and Wolverine were always my favorite characters. That cartoon about the teen X-men or whatever? As a kid when that was on I loved it but not as an Xmen thing (it was a pretty iffy show, and in my opinion not near the comic's level).
