Even though the actual game doesn't come out for a few more days, almost 1 million users have signed up to play with the Spore Creature Creator.

Spore is Evil,i was looking up to it since two years, but when i knew that it uses Securom,i gave up.

I haven't had any problems with the creature creator so far. If you're worried about securom, just buy it from the site and download it directly.

And maybe EA found a better way to use securom. A year of customer complaints from Sims 2 expansions has to teach you something.

BUt I saw Cheese's creature (something I'd never thought I'd say) and It was so cool! the idea of making your own planet and populace was pretty nifty, though it creeps me out how many poeple are using it, can we say, mind control?

Spore is fun and amazingly addictive! You start out picking either herbivore or carnivore, and you become a cell in a little pond. Depending what you pick, you either eat smaller cells and chunks of cell meat, or pieces of algae. As you eat, you get bigger and get points you can use to evolve and add things like horns, or other useful parts. There are twelve different parts in the cell stage, and six of them you have to find by defeating creatures who have that part! When you finally eat enough, you can put feet on your creature and evolve!
That's the first stage, out of five.

Throughout the whole game, creatures you meet are either default creatures from Maxis, creatures that you and your friends have made, or if you choose to allow them, creatures that anyone else has made. There is also a ban button for any individual creatures you don't like.

I am currently on the third stage, the Tribal stage.
Also there are three difficulty options.

It's just single player. But you can have other people's creatures in your game.

I haven't actually created anything since I picked up spore except the one I've been playing as. Total, I'd say somewhere between 20 and 30 creatures?

And Omega, it's not actually another player, just a creature they made. Like if you click on something, it'll say it's name and creator

Something like that. Most of the creatures I've seen were made by Maxis, the sub-company of EA that made the game.

I'm gonna have to go to a harder difficulty. Easy is starting to seem a little too easy.

Why is the Wumbuh Empire just a bunch of jerks? Curse you Ryan for making this creature!!

I love the game. I am kind of addicted to it. I have the feeling that some of you would easily get addicted to it as well. Kavi, if you got Spore we may not see another Accipiter/Overcharm page for a couple weeks/months.

I'm actually going to go play it in a bit again.

By the way,i got spore creatures on the DS,pretty good,entertaining,but short,and my copy got graphical artifacts in the second day*sniff*
i got it replaced.

On Amazon.com, Spore got over 2000 1 star reviews, mostly before it came out just because of the secuROM DRM. I agree that it is stupid, but it's not going to stop me from enjoying the game. (At least not yet.)

Also, I destroyed the Wumbuh Empire!! Hooray for me! That's what they get for messing with me and my allies.

Now I am going to go play Mario songs on my guitar.
