A TV series that only ran one season and then was canceled, by the guy that did Angel.

All that aside, its one of the best series ever. I just finished watching it with Tyto. We howled with laughter, almost cried at parts, and came away quoting almost every line. Its a space western, set in the future (Duh)and follows the crew of Serenity. Nine people, nine amazing characters, and some of the best damn writing around. Sure there were some cheesy effects, but the amazing part is that there were so few CGI parts, or animation, and no cheesy aliens either. the show is amazing, and I am sure tyto will agree when I say its the best I've seen.

Captain Malcom 'Mal' Reynolds is a former galactic war veteran who is the captain of the transport ship "Serenity", Mal his crew of hired transporters, Mal's ensign Zoe Warren, Zoe's husband, pilot Hoban 'Wash' Washburne, muscular former combat soldier Jayne Cobb, young engineer Kaylee Frye, former Alliance medical officer Simon Tamm, his teenage sister River (Both on-the-run from the Interplanetary government "The Alliance"), the beautiful "companion" Inara Serra and religious man Shepard Book do legal or illegal jobs (smuggling, protecting, guns-for-hire, robberies) as the Serenity crew travels across the outskirts of Outer Space for food, money, anything to make a living on, as The Serenity crew tries to stay under the radar of The Alliance and pulls dangerous jobs in the Alliance controlled star systems.

But, yeah, I fully intend to purchase a brown coat, and to integrate "shiny" into my vocabulary.

Zoe and Wash are my favorite characters. Zoe because she manages to be kickaxe without being one of those in-your-face obnoxious fighter chicks, and Wash because... well, he's Wash. They're so darn cute together.
