As you probably know from the game, Dungeons vary in length and difficulty.  Some have rare Pokémon and some have traps and monster houses.  Of course, with all these variables, how long should you roleplay?

Another thing a mod. had to think about.  BUT!  Never fear!

Here are the guidelines for a dungeon:

-How many posts should there be for one level?
-This is still pretty important, but there's an average answer.  Each level should take about at least one decent sized posts from each team member, and one more from their leader.  This should be fairly easy.  Now what if there's a ton of levels?  That's what the next question is for.

-How many levels is it originally?
-Okay, this is a major factor.  If it has very few levels, I expect you to roleplay practically them all.  A few levels would be about 1-9 levels.  This being said, if it's around Level 9 that your mission is based on, you may skip a maximum of 3 levels.  For levels 10-19, you may skip a maximum of 7 levels.  For levels 20-49, you may skip a maximum of 15 levels.  For levels 50-100, you may skip a maximum of 35 levels.  Now, skipping those levels seem like very huge jumps, huh?  That's why there's another rule!

-How should I skip levels?
-It's quite simple, actually.  Now, I don't want people skipping 7, 15, or even 35 levels at a time.  NEVER.  For these, I suggest you skip a few levels at a time.  Also, there's a specific way you should go about when your skipping levels.  NEVER say, "After the members beat the creature, they found five sets of steps straight away, and blew right through the areas."  I will be angry with you if you do.  D=<  No.  Instead, say something like, "With a little luck and quiet paws, the three members quietly passed as many Savages as they could.  They managed to climb three steps of stairs with only a few scraps along the way."  Of course, I expect a little more detail, but somewhere around those lines.  Being able to inform the reader, and complete their missions.

-Why do bigger levels have to have more posts?
-Bigger levels have higher ranking missions to be performed, and those missions are worth more points to your team.  To get all of the points, you must be willing to spend enough time to work at it.  Just like the game.

-What should I do about the items on the floor?
-Be fair.  This applies under the same rules as Godmoding, so try to make your character fair.  Yes, item do appear on the ground.  It happens.  Just don't put X-Ray Specs. in the middle of Tiny woods, or 1,000 poké conveniently near the stairs.  Add the shopkeeper occaisionally, and be fair to yourself as well.  Finding an Oran Berry is wonderful!  Maybe even the occaisional Reviver Seed.  Just don't make it so that every time your character needs something, it conveniently pops up.  (EX:  Your character is poisoned and about to faint.  You find a Pecha Berry.)  And don't worry about losing every once in a while!  We have kind members who'd love to send their teams after a true challenge:  saving another team!  *NOTE*  You can only hold 20 items, just like the game.  Any more will be a violation and you will have to throw one out or use one.

-What should I do about traps and monster houses?
-Again, like above, be fair.  All the rules are exactly the same as the items.

-What should I do to get a Savage to join my team?
-Quite simply, they don't.  There's a reason they call them Savages.  Sorry, but in this version, I'd rather not have it.

-How do I gain levels and experience?
-After you're done with a mission, show a mod. your thread.  They'll tally up what you fought, (at least what you described fighting[which means in-depth!]) what happened, and what you earned and give you your total experience from the mission.  The Level requirements will be placed eventually!

-Who decides where things go?
-Your team leader!  They make all the major decisions.  What paths, what to eat and when, and how/what to attack.  Decide who your team leader is before you go on a mission.  *NOTE* You can change your team leader in between missions.  A team member can become a leader for one, and another can be for a different one.

-I have more questions.  What should I do?
-PM Amz!  She'd be more than happy to answer any other questions you may have!  Hope this helped!

Footnotes:

-Each Level:  1 post from each member; 2 from the Leader
     -Max Level Skips:
         -1-9:  3
         -10-19:  7
         -20-49:  15
         -50-100:  35
-Be fair with items, traps, and monster houses
-Only 20 items max, un-including the items you hold
-Your experience is totaled from what you roleplay
     -Pick your leader beforehand
     -No Savage teammates

Is a level simple enough for a post from each member and two from the leader? There isn't much ground to pass or battles to be fought? Again, I haven't played the game, but it seems like such a brief roleplay wouldn't go very far - With a leader and two, maybe three other team members, and 100 levels; that's only about 500 posts at a maximum for all one hundred. Maybe I'm reading this wrong. Of course, there's still an element of playing outside of the dungeons, correct? In between some, the team would return to their homes or restock items, and possibly create more of an opportunity for character interaction or some sort of plot. (... I really need to read up on the game. I'll do that this weekend.) Even in a relatively high-standards rp (3¶ or more per post), 500 posts goes by pretty quickly.

Well, #1, these aren't set in stone.  These were fixable estimations.  Besides, it's a MINIMUM of 1 post per level.  And if you look into other roleplayer, very few times will you see a roleplay that's gone on to even page three, especially in low population roleplays.

Also, if people want more experience, they post more and more in depth.  There's also the fact that, like you said, there will be other things to do.  I personally think we should make a sort of "club" in our town, so that teams can meet each other.

But yeah.  The biggest thing to take from here is that it's a minimum.  Maybe I should do two posts, but actually, forum roleplays seem to take longer, especially for quality.  To get through even a simple dungeon with what I'm suggesting may possibly take up to a week.  The whole point is for people to have fun.  Besides, the lower dungeons are worth few points.  If everybody's active, you could probably get through a 100 level dungeon in about 5 days.  That's the forum I'm suggesting.
